Gerry Cea showing his Rock side.

Famed local restaurant owner makes a Rock album.

If you are a local in Miami Beach, when you hear the name Gerry Cea, the first thing that comes to mind is
his very popular restaurant Prima Pasta. But what many people didn’t know is that Gerry is also a very
talented musician and writer. Gerry, an Argentine born entrepreneur, caught the music bug at age 9 when
his parents bought him an Elvis Presley album and then at age 12 when he received his first guitar. Now,
with help from musical genius and producer friend Rudy Perez and Rudy’s son Chris Price, they have
put together an album that is a mix between The Police, a little Pink Floyd and a lot of Rock n’ Roll.
Let’s sit down and get “Up, Close & Personal” with Gerry Cea.

MBLM: Tell us a little about your childhood, where were you born, grew up,etc. ?

GC: I was born in Argentina, I grew up in a very busy city in the middle of Buenos Aires , growing up there it was
great, with my two  brothers and my parents Until I was 18 years old Then we went to New York City.
MBLM: At what age did you know that you wanted to get into music?

GC: Music. was always in my house, my big brothers will play their favorite albums from yes , Eric Clapton
to Pink Floyd and the police , but what really got into my mind was my parents, they bought me the albums of
Elvis Presley when I was 9  years old, I got my first guitar when I was 12 but never learn how to play.
After that I knew the rock style was the one I want to have inside of me forever
MBLM: I recently heard your new album, what was your experience making it?
GC: Making an album, especially when you write the music and the lyrics, is an amazing feeling how music starts
growing and putting all the pieces together. I took my time and spent one year making the album

Perez and Diego Torres. How influenced were you by
them to make this album?
GC: Rudy Perez , is the person who help me to start
making music when I turn 50 years old. So all this is thanks

been friends for 20 years, and he pretty much show me
how to use my ears and listen to the music so I can be
able to play the instrument better .

your son, were any of these songs written with him in
mind?
GC: When my son Lucas, left town to go to College, I was
in my house with my wife and felt the emptiness, so
that's was when I wrote my first song ( si pudieras ) in
Spanish, then we wrote together  a great song for this
album called ((The One ))which tells the story about my
son Lucas and his ex-girlfriend and talks about his real

script and send it to my friends in Argentina to make an  Animated cartoon , After three weeks the video reached
over 1 million views, completely amazing!
